ÖKO-TEST: Individual redaction system

ÖKO-TEST is a consumer magazine that independently tests and evaluates products and services for quality, harmful substances, and environmental compatibility. This clear focus on transparency and consumer protection makes the magazine an important source of guidance in everyday life for many people. Based on these requirements, Naymspace is developing comprehensive editorial software that significantly simplifies and structures internal workflows. The goal is to make the entire process—from research and test documentation to final publication—more efficient, intuitive, and transparent. Flexible architecture and customized functions create a digital tool that optimally supports the editorial team and ensures greater quality, speed, and transparency in everyday work in the long term.

Insight into development

When implementing the new editorial system for ÖKO-TEST, one of the main challenges was to replace the existing legacy system and migrate all historical data in its entirety. This process involved not only transferring large amounts of data, but also cleaning up and structurally preparing various data formats that had accumulated over many years. To ensure data quality and consistency, we performed a comprehensive plausibility check, identified potential sources of error, and systematically cleaned up duplicates and inconsistencies.

In addition, carefully planned change management played a crucial role in the successful transition. We involved the editorial team in the process at an early stage, set up regular feedback loops, and closely aligned user needs with the technical implementation. Through targeted training, test phases, and continuous support, we were able to reduce reservations and ensure that the new system was not only introduced technically, but also actively accepted in everyday work. The result was a smooth transition that lays the foundation for more efficient editorial processes and a stable system landscape in the long term.

It's fun to familiarize yourself with such a complex system and continuously improve it — especially when you know that it's in use every day.
