Increasing performance and reducing tool wear

The automotive industry is developing rapidly. With the increasing number of new vehicle models, auto repair shops are faced with the challenge of managing their ever-growing inventory of tools. Without the right tool, this often involves a lot of time and effort. With SEPP.One, Naymspace is implementing the solution.

Insight into development

To comply with the quality standards of the automotive industry, authorized workshops must undergo regular audits, during which the tool inventory is also checked. Since different vehicle models require a variety of special tools — particularly in workshops specializing in e-mobility or super-sports models — the effort required for tool management increases significantly.

This is where SEPP.One® comes in. The software is a new and further development of an established system that has been on the market for over 15 years and has now been completely rebuilt on a modern technological foundation. This provides extensive possibilities for future enhancements and ensures long-term sustainability. All existing customers go through a structured migration process in which their data is consolidated and transferred into the new system. This enables thousands of workshops to reliably manage several million tools.

A key focus of the implementation was the integration of modern storage and provisioning systems such as Smart Cabinets or Vertical Lift Modules. Through an operating console directly connected to SEPP.One®, tools can be precisely stored, tracked, and retrieved. SEPP.One® thus creates a seamless link between the digital inventory and the physical tool flow.

Thanks to close collaboration with the SEPPTOOLS project team in the Munich area, a manufacturer-independent tool management software solution was created, tailored to the specific processes of automotive workshops and dealerships. Centralized master data management ensures that all workshops can access a clean, well-structured catalog of special tools and are optimally prepared for the annual manufacturer audit.

The container-based infrastructure also provides a flexible setup, rapid deployment, and easy scalability for future industry requirements.
